Ancillary Collection

Tyrecycle not only collects scrap tyres. We can collect other materials which are sent to licensed recycling facilities all across the country.

Used batteries, steel (rims), alloy rims, lead tyre weights are all collected along with scrap tyres.

Once materials are brought back to one of Tyrecycle’s sites they are aggregated into special bins and sent to specialised recyclers near each site. Each of Tyrecycle’s recycling partners are accredited and have the appropriate environmental standards in place to ensure ethical recycling is undertaken.

Tyrecycle continues to work with government and industry to increase awareness in the importance of tyre recycling and the promise if associated product development.

Passenger & Light Truck Tyres

Australians generate around 56 million end of life passenger tyres annually. Approximately 20 million of those are processed by Tyrecycle.

Off the Road (OTR) & Conveyor Belt

In Australia, about 20 million OTR tyres expire annually, far too many of which are still being disposed to landfill, either in shredded or whole form. Their size, construction and invariably remote location make their disposal or reuse difficult and expensive.
