The Pilbara region of Western Australia is a major mining hub, producing a variety of minerals and contributing significantly to the Australian economy.

It’s also home to about 50,000 tonnes of Australia’s 130,000 tonnes of used off-the-road (OTR) mining tyres – many buried on site.

It’s a statistic that doesn’t sit well with Jim Fairweather. The Tyrecycle Chief Executive Officer has spearheaded an ambitious five-year plan for a local solution for end-of-life OTR mining tyres.
