A leader in tyre recycling, Tyrecycle has delivered strong environmental and economic outcomes by repurposing materials otherwise destined for landfill.
Today we are Australia’s largest tyre recycler with a growing national footprint. In March 2021 Tyrecycle was awarded ‘Best Tyre Recycler’ by Recircle Awards on a global platform.
Tyrecycle Timeline
1992
We started as the waste tyre division of a major tyre manufacturer in 1992 but quickly evolved to become Australia’s largest recycler for all types of tyres.
2008
In 2008, Resourceco Group bought Tyrecycle.
2016
In 2016, we started a joint adventure with Barwicks in Tasmania.
2017
In 2017, Tyrecycle won the Stawell contract in Victoria.
2018/19
2018/19, Tyrecycle were contracted to clean up Numurkah, removing 9,500 tonnes of tyres.
2019
In 2019, Tyrecycle spent $1.5 million on the upgrade of Barwicks plant.
2020
In 2020, Tyrecycle commenced work on a new crumbing facility in NSW.
2021
In 2021, Tyrecycle were awarded ‘Best Tyre Recycler’ at the inaugural Global Recircle Awards.
2024
In 2024, Tyrecycle opened Tyre recycling facility in East Rockingham, WA.
2025
In 2025, Tyrecycle opened Australia’s first dedicated OTR mining tyre recycling facility.
